Abstract

Mental wellness awareness is a crucial component to succeed in studies and helping University Students to have a healthy lifestyle. The present study evaluated the extent of Mental Health Literacy and factors influencing Mental Health Literacy of 310 students (undergraduate and post-graduate) of Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Random sampling was used to ensure the diversity of respondents for data collection and SPSS software was used for data analysis to analyze data that were collected from a 35 item questionnaire. It was found that quite many students rejected the typical erroneous conceptions, especially those based on fixed socioeconomic or demographic characteristics, concerning mental disorder. The study highlighted the necessary factors influencing students' mental health, thereby emphasizing the need for social support systems and easy access to mental health practitioners. Creating an inclusive environment for students and providing targeted mental health interventions are crucial for the success of mental health services within the university context. This research provides empirical insights to guide policy formulation and institutional practices aimed at cultivating mentally healthy campuses. Broader future investigation across Punjab province is recommended.
