Abstract

The authors of the study have determined various factors that hinder an ability of school headteacher’s to exercise transformational leadership during the process of change  within the school. The current study was qualittauive in nature and its purpose was to  investigate various challenges faced by headteachers of schools in Korangi East Karachi.The data was collected from 06 primary school teachers using the purposive sampling technique.The study was conducted in Korangi East District Karachi and the  semi-structured interview was used as a tool of data collection.Thematic analysis was used to conceptualize and analyze the qualitative data. The findings gave rise to the themes of challenges, organizational culture, leadership styles, and practices. The results revealed that the critical influence of factors evolving in leadership ideologies on the learning environment and the disparities between expensive and low-cost schools, which emphasizes the need for head teachers to adopt transformative leadership in order to provide individualized solutions. The study adds value to the conversation by addressing the organizational culture's critical role, the transformative impact of leadership practices, the importance of adaptability, resilience, and strategic problem-solving as essential qualities of effective leadership in private secondary education.
